Injury Prevention Guide
Running is often considered the oldest sport in existence. The desire to travel from point A to point B as fast as possible has been a long-standing challenge for athletes, and remains the primary goal for many recreational and competitive runners.

The Frontrunners Half and Full Marathon clinic is geared towards those wanting to prepare for the BMO Vancouver Full Marathon on May 3rd, 2015 and the Oak Bay Half Marathon on May 24th.

Participants should be comfortable running 1 hour. Group runs are on Wednesday night and long run Saturday mornings with a pace group that suits the participant's personal running goals.

Clinic begins: Wednesday Jan 7th - May 2nd
Dates & Times: Wednesdays @ 5:30pm & Saturdays 8:00am

Cost: $99 +GST (incl. techincal run shirt)

New to running? First Steps will introduce new runners to the basics of running through a run/walk program.

Next Steps will continue to build on the basics through a run/walk program that will lead to running continuously.

Stronger Steps is a new level to the clinic for runners who want to build towards a stronger, faster 10K.

All participants run at a pace that is comfortable for them. During all of these sessions, participants will be exposed to a variety of topics (including technique, shoe fitting and nutrition) through our knowledgeable and experienced guest speakers.

When:Thursdays Jan 22nd - Apr 23rd, 6:00pm - 7:00pm

Terry Fox Marathon of Hope artifacts to be displayed at national museum in Ottawa

Some 200,000 artifacts from Terry Fox’s incredible Marathon of Hope have been securely stored at a nondescript Burnaby warehouse for the past two years.

But a select few were on display Thursday as Heritage Minister James Moore and the Fox family announced a six-month Marathon of Hope exhibit will open at the Canadian Museum of History in Ottawa in April, 2015.

There was the jar of Atlantic Ocean water, still clear and half full as it was when Fox scooped up the water at the start of his historic run for cancer research in Newfoundland on April 12, 1980.
